Tuner FAQ
How does an online guitar tuner work?
It uses your device microphone to listen to the pitch of the string you play, measures its frequency and shows how many cents sharp or flat it is compared to the target note.
What are the standard guitar tuning notes?
E – A – D – G – B – E, from the thickest to the thinnest string.
Is the online tuner free and private?
Yes. It runs completely in your browser. Audio is analysed on your device and is never recorded or uploaded.
Why does my tuner not pick up my guitar?
Allow microphone access, play one string at a time in a quiet room and hold the guitar close to the microphone. For an electric guitar, put it through an amp or use the reference tones to tune by ear.
